Back in Boston
Hey all, first post on the new blog. Hope you all enjoy the new site layout. I’ve been working on it over winter break and I think it’s finally ready to roll out. Curse you Internet Explorer for making me spend so much time hacking CSS code. And if you’re reading this in IE right now, shame on you. Go download Firefox right away. You’ll be glad you did.
Speaking of winter break. I had quite a bit of fun! Christmas was great with the whole extended family as usual. We went down to Idaho this year to my uncle Mike and aunt Jan’s house. It was great fun, and sadly, probably one of the last whole family Christmases that we’ll have, seeing as the cousins are getting so old. Afterwards we went skiing, and then it was back to Billings for a while.
I hung out with some high school friends for New Year’s Eve, and spent time with Tom writing more music and practicing our old stuff. Then, Tom and I played a concert with some of our original stuff and some Dave Matthews and Dispatch at a downtown coffeehouse. It was a real blast. We’re (hopefully) going to record our stuff soon. Then maybe I can post it up here.
After the concert, I left for Colorado to ski with some of my Olin friends. We skiied Arapahoe Basin for four days and it was totally sweet. I even learned to telemark ski. While we were down there, I also ran into Rachel, who went to a summer camp with me when we were in junior high. She is now friends with my friend Lauren from Olin. Very small world.
After getting back from skiing, it was time to start packing things up to come back. I also had to clean out my old room finally and hand it down to my brother. It is the “good” room after all. That was weird, going through all the junk and memories in my room. It really made me realize what a packrat I am, but I was glad in a way. It was fun reading through all the notes that I saved from junior high. Ah, drama.
And now, I’m back in Boston, after the minor delay due to the huge blizzard they just had. It’s cold and two feet of snow on the ground here as opposed to the sunny and 60 degree weather they were having in Billings when I left. Crazy low pressure cells.
So yeah, just hoping for a good and fun semester where I really get to spend time on the things I love. Hopefully I’ll get the time to keep y’all posted.
