So, i finished that hat I was talking about in the last post. This is a photo of it. I’m not really happy with the color combination or the design, but I didn’t really plan very carefully either, so that’s ok. I also didn’t do enough expanding rows on accident, so it’s too small for my head, which is ok because I’d never wear it anyway. It was a good exercise in trying to do a vertical strip in a horizontal pattern though. I’m trying to use it again on a hat I’m making right now.

In other news, my group for User Oriented Collaborative Design is doing “vending machine technicians,” so we’re trying to meet with and observe as many people involved with vending machines as possible. It’s harder than it looks because nobody seems to know the refillers’ schedules. It’s like they just appear without warning out of the mist, refill the candy and sugar waters, take the money, and disappear back from whence they came… Which makes them even more interesting to study.
