Weekend Trip

This weekend was President’s Day weekend, and we had no school on Monday (woohoo!) It also just happened to be my friend Matt’s birthday, so to celebrate, his girlfriend Lara planned a trip to a cabin in New Hampshire for he and some friends (me included.) We left on Saturday and planned to stay until Monday, but the threat of snow brought us home on Sunday night. (It turned out to be a good decision, since it did snow very hard all Sunday night and Monday.)

We had a great time while we were there. Hung out in the cabin, played lots of card games, Monopoly, and Twister. Played some guitar, did some crocheting, ate really good food. We also ventured out onto the frozen lake near the cabin. There were a bunch of ice fishermen’s huts out on the ice, so we walked out and checked them out. It was a little unnerving, however, since the ice kept creaking at times. I was assured that it was totally safe though, and people were driving snowmobiles and ATVs on it, so it couldn’t have been that weak.

All in all, a great and relaxing weekend. Now I’m gearing up for candidate’s weekend at the college, which is this coming weekend. Nobody’s coming from Montana this year, which makes me very sad. I thought I could make it to all 4 original classes with exactly one Montanan each. It was not to be.
