What happened to summer?

Man, what the heck happened? I thought summer was supposed to be relaxing? Well, it turns out that summer is not as relaxing/fun as the school year. Working full time is no fun. I guess I take for granted that having classes with a bunch of your friends that are interesting, start later than 10 every morning, and only last for 2 hours is not a bad life. Oh well, summer’s almost over anyway.

One good thing about summer is making money. As you can see from the photo, I’ve been finding good ways to spend mine. Yes, I finally coughed up some dough and bought myself a desktop. This is my really well cooled video card. ATI Radeon 9800 Pro goodness with a (way overkill but cheap) Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer heatsink. Yes, it takes up an entire PCI slot below the video card and cools like nobody’s business. The rest of the components include 1 GB of nice RAM, AMD Athalon 64 3400+, 160 GB drive (to add to my 80 I already have) and a pretty nice motherboard.

I’m quite sad though, since the mobo came and was defective this means 2-3 more weeks of sending things back and forth. *sigh* At least the place I bought it from has a good return/exchange policy (3 months.) It will be fun when it’s finally all put together.

In other news, my brohter is coming to visit soon, and I’m pretty excited about that. I’m taking a day off work for a three day weekend and we’ll run around Boston, etc. etc.

That’s about all, see you when school starts and I’m moving into my BRAND NEW SUITE!!! WAHOO!!!
