Scrobble Scrobble
Hooray! My Audioscrobbler is working again, which means that all the music I play is once again posted to my Last.FM. Cool cool stuff. If you haven’t tried Last.FM, then you should. It’s totally hot. It tracks your trends, helps you find new music that you might like and other people that listen to it, and even provides free radio stations of music based on your habits (which allow you to skip and ban songs!) WOW! Plus it’s all free and nonsketchy.
I’m taking my car in to the dealership to have it looked at tomorrow. I have a laundry list of problems for them (actually, just 3). Hopefully I can get everything fixed that needs to be (on warranty) and have less hassle. The other night I was driving in the rain and the carefully constructed plastic seal I had placed over the sunroom ripped off. Luckily, I was headed to the supermarket, so I purchased some painters tape and just sealed up all the cracks around the window. Engineering at work!
Last week was INSANELY busy and I’m not sure why. Just a combination of three classes all having a heavy work week at the same time I guess. This week is significantly lighter, so yay for that. Maybe I’ll sleep some more.
I want to post a “how to” post soon about getting Foobar configured with all the good plugins and other goodies. It’s really a great audio player and has a lot less “messy crap” that I don’t need gumming up the works. Unfortunately, it requires an EXPERT user and internet searcher to find and install all of the various plugins written by random people to make it sweet. Hopefully I can help people overcome that energy barrier and make more converts.
In related news, I’m working on digital audio players in my HFID (Human Factors Interface Design) class, so I’m seeing a lot more of what makes current offerings hard to use. Hopefully we’ll be able to come up with a new and totally different interface based on people’s actual goals (listening to music they like, mainly).
