Montana…
AHHHHHH!!! Sometimes being at home can be really really boring. I have no friends here anymore except for a few and they are not around right now. My family all goes to bed early, small town shuts down, … *sigh* It makes me realize how much I REALLY APPRECIATE Olin people. They truly are amazing. I still wonder if I’ll do any work this semester.
On another note, Death Cab for Cutie is really really amazing. I just learned how to play “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” from their new album Plans which comes out soon (I have an advance leak of it I guess.) It’s such an amazingly beautiful and simple song. Wow. I’ll add it to the list of songs that can almost make me cry when I listen to them late at night in a dark room. Is that a weird list to have? It’s not very many, but some songs are just so rawly emotional. I’m not sure what it is, but occasionally … wow.
Listening to Nickel Creek on the way back on the plane, I was almost crying for a different reason. If you ever just sit down and listen to an instrumental track where Chris Thiele gets going, it just really is amazing/depressing. I can never … ever … EVER be that musically talented. How can you create things of such clever beauty so effortlessly? WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO???
