Moving In
Oh man. Moving in has to be one of the worst things in the whole world. I mean, why do I have all of this CRAP? And where will it all go? Wandering around through piles of garbage and wondering if you’ll ever be able to relax in a room that’s fully put together is not that great. Eventually it all works out though.
Dean was the last from my suite to get here (the others being Brain, Rob, Brendan, and Matt). Dean and I worked on carting over the rest of our stuff. We didn’t have a dolly, so we used a table with wheels instead. It ended up working out, and thankfully, the table didn’t break in half from the weight.
We also managed to break one of the newly mounted EXIT signs off of the ceiling with an exceptionally tall load. Whoops. Well, that’s what workorders are for, right? In our defense, it was mounted with a single screw into drywall. Not exactly sturdy. It was broken by pillows. I mean … come on.
Finally, after a whole lot of work, my room is pretty much complete (sans some boxes that need to be taken back to storage once it’s all clean.) I managed to wedge my bed into a spot that was a REALLY tight fit. But I’m glad I was able to do it because it gives me a WHOLE lot more floorspace and lets me put my desk to i can look out the window. Woot.
Tonight we’re headed off to IKEA and Walmart to put together the final pieces. Then we’re going to start working on the suite, which will have possibly the highest density of video gaming capability anywhere. Yeah … we’re nerds.

Wow, you live with a guy named “BRAIN”? Appropriate, I guess.
